Underperforming Public School List and Eligibility for New Applicants:
My underperforming school is not on the list. How can I find out why?

My child attends an underperforming school on the list, but we do not reside in the attendance zone. Are we eligible for the program?
The law that created the Georgia Promise Scholarship states that children must reside in the attendance zone of a school on the list of lower-performing schools. If your residence is outside of the designated attendance zone, your child is not eligible for the program. More details can be found in the Family Handbook on mygeorgiapromise.org
My child does not attend an underperforming school on the list, but we reside in the attendance zone. Are we eligible for the program?
The law that created the Georgia Promise Scholarship states that children must reside in the attendance zone of a school on the list of lower-performing schools. Your child must be enrolled in any Georgia public school for two consecutive FTE counts in order to apply for the program. When applying, please select the underperforming school you are zoned for.
Returning Student Information:
Returning students (students approved during year 1) can apply in year 2 even though they have attended a private school in year 1. Brand new students or students who have left the program and are re-entering must either be previously enrolled in a public school for the previous 2 semesters or a rising Kindergarten student.
