This guide walks families through the first step of applying for the My Georgia Promise Scholarship Program through the Odyssey platform. For details on the second step, refer to the Guide to the Guide to Verifying Documents for Georgia Families.
Step 1: Start Application
Account Registration and Login
New applicants: Sign up by entering your name, email, and a strong password.
Returning applicants: Log in using your existing credentials to continue the recertification process.
Step 2: Parent Information
At this step, you will add your parent information.
Parent Information
Pre-populated fields will include:
- First name
- Last name
You will also need to provide:
- Phone number
- Preferred language
- Residential address
Ensure that your last name and address match official records for eligibility verification.
If you have lived in Georgia for more than a year, select 'Yes'. If you have lived in Georgia for less than a year and are active-duty military, you must upload your military orders.
Step 3: Student Information
Enter the following details for each student:
- Full name
- Social Security Number
- Date of birth
Verify that all information is accurate before submitting.
Step 4: School and District Information
- Enter the school your child is zoned for, not necessarily the school they attend or plan to attend.
- If unsure, contact your local district.
- Select the district where your child resided during the 2025-2026 school year.
Documents that will be required:
- School enrollment records: you may be required to upload proof of public school attendance during the entire 2025-2026 academic year, such as report cards or attendance reports. This will not be required for kindergarten students. Please make sure this document includes both the school name and the student's name.
Step 5: If Applicable - Add Additional Students
You can add multiple students from your household within one application. Separate applications cannot be submitted for additional students. At this step, please make sure all students are added.
Before continuing you must confirm all students have been added. If you need to add additional children, please select [Go Back]. If all students have been added, please select [Yes].
Step 6: Confirm Parent Identification
Provide the following details to verify residency and income:
- Your ID number
- Marital status
- Household size
Ensure that all information regarding household members is accurate.
Step 7: Parent Attestations
Please review the attestations and check them of.
In order to affirm the attestations, you must type out the following: I have read and understand.
Please make sure you type this out exactly as written, including capitalization and punctuation or you will not be able to continue.
Step 8: Application Review
Reviewing your application before submission is required. Please ensure you carefully review each step and continue if everything is correct. If there is anything that is incorrect, please edit the information before continuing.
Once everything has been reviewed and is confirmed as correct, you may submit your application.
Step 9: Information Verification
Once submitted, your application will go through verification.
Once all information is provided and verification is complete, you will receive an initial verdict of your application.
